I’ve been really digging putting these playlists together! I also love that they complement the post from earlier in the week. If you are just joining in the fun, you can check out my youtube channel HERE
In this week’s blog post, You Will Not Drown I wrote about some simple steps you can take when life keeps tossing you around like a rag doll:
Calm. Breathe. Think. Take Action.
What could be better than some music to pair with these steps?! I immediately got excited about creating something that would infuse your day with some inspiration. Songs that make you feel stronger, walk a little taller, & believe that you do in fact have the ability to be strong yet calm amidst the chaos of everyday life.
Thanks for the feedback some of you left on my Facebook page!
Here’s what we came up with:
- Get Back Up Again – Trolls
I’m not giving up today
There’s nothing getting in my way
And if you knock knock me over
I will get back up again, oh
If something goes a little wrong
Well you can go ahead and bring it on
‘Cause if you knock knock me over, I will get back up again
- Eye of the Tiger – Survivor
- This is Me – The Greatest Showman
When the sharpest words wanna cut me down
I’m gonna send a flood, gonna drown them out
I am brave, I am bruised
I am who I’m meant to be, this is me
I dare you to move
I dare you to lift yourself up off the floor
I dare you to move
Like today never happened
Today never happened before
- Shake It Out – Florence & the Machine
You shoot me down but I won’t fall, I am titanium
- Fight Song – Rachel Platten
- Me Without You – Toby Mac
- Everything is Awesome – Tegan & Sara ft. The Lonely Island
- Good Feeling – Flo Rida
I get a good feeling, yeah
When I lose direction
When I can’t see the stars
If we get disconnected
I’ll sing my way back to Your heart
I’ll sing my way back to Your arms
You can listen to the Above Water playlist in its entirety on my youtube channel HERE
Music is a wonderful language of its own, I hope that this weeks playlist translated well. My hope is that you can use these songs as a tool to stay focused on staying above the water & connecting with others.
I want to hear from you in the comments!
-What are some songs that came to mind as you scrolled through or listened to this playlist?
-Were there any songs here that you never had heard before but really liked?
Let’s hum the same tune as we keep moving forward together.
The Mess In Me Honors the Mess In You
