Weekly Affirmation – Process

Sometimes, I get caught up with all the pictures in my head of the “end game”. This causes me to conveniently forget about the ten bazillion steps I must take before “arriving”.

Maybe you do too?

So I’m posing the questions….what if, instead of being discouraged about the ten bazillion steps, we realized that those steps were exciting in their own right?

The steps in our processes are there for a reason.

I may not know what the reason for the process is when I start, but I have a hunch when I get to the end it will make a LOT more sense.

This leads us to this week’s affirmation:

If we already have something. we don’t need to hope for it. But if we  look forward to something we don’t yet have, we must wait patiently & confidently.

Romans 8:24b-25 NLT

I’m reminded of the line from Princess Bride that we often quote “I hate waiting”. But the waiting is SO important & gives us something that skipping to the front of the line doesn’t give us!

The process helps us gain the muscle needed to carry the weight of our victories with ease. Rather than being crushed by what we haven’t earned, don’t understand & can’t fully appreciate.

As you move through this week I hope that you can intentionally take a breath & exhale. Realize that where you are today, doesn’t have to be your forever. That dreams are valuable & often necessary for hope to thrive. & that the journey to fulfilling those dreams is equally necessary & doesn’t have to be viewed as discouraging.

What is it that’s taking a little longer than you expected to change in life? What BIG dream do you have? Have you started taking the steps toward it?

Let me know in the comments!

As we go through our process, let’s keep moving forward together.
